My name is Danielle Rankin and I am a junior Early Grades Prep/Special Education dual major here at WCU. I am excited to get to know our members, see what we can accomplish as an organization this year in terms of APEX, travel to Hershey for the SPSEA State Conference in April, and most of all, to grow together as future educators! I love DIY projects, traveling, and the outdoors!

I am a Senior a WCU studying Early Grades Preparation with a minor in Reading. I volunteer for the Charles A. Melton Center's New Directions Academic Program and am the America Reads Site Leader for this center. As the current Vice President of Student-PSEA of West Chester, I strive to help provide opportunities to our members to become better educators! I love to cook and bake almost as much as I enjoy eating. I study Children's Literature in my spare time.

I am a junior Middle Grades Major concentrating in English and Math. I can’t resist blasting music and singing along in the car.

I’m really excited to see what service opportunities S-PSEA has in store this year!

Special Interest Group Chairs

I’m Kimberly Dempsey, Secondary Education SIG Chair. I am a junior Secondary Education Mathematics major.  My favorite part of SPSEA is the many community service and professional development opportunities provided. I also have made many long lasting friendships! I love to play volleyball in my spare time!

I'm Madeline Conte, Play SIG Chair. I'm a Freshman Early Grades Preparation Major.

My favorite part of SPSEA would have to be the friendships I have made with such wonderful people who share the same interest as me of becoming the best educators possible.

I enjoy playing tennis in my free time.

My name is Jessica Haverkamp and I am the Special Education SIG Chair. I am a freshman middles grades major with specialization in Math and English. My favorite part of SPSEA is meeting and forming relationships with other Education majors that I otherwise would probably never have crossed paths with! Because an Education major has so many options of content areas, grades, etc, there are many Education majors that I will never have a chance to meet if they are studying a different content area, unless we both are in SPSEA!

My name is Jennifer O’Neill and I am the EGP SIG Chair of WCU SPSEA. I am a sophomore majoring in Early Grades Preparation with minors in Literacy and Elementary Mathematics. My favorite part of being in SPSEA is having the opportunity to work alongside so many wonderful fellow education majors to help the community. In my spare time, I love reading and making crafts from Pinterest.

Amber Coe is both the Student PSEA Treasurer and Middle Grades SIG Chair. Her bio is above.

Executive Board members are each responsible in their respective roles however collaborate with our advisor, SIG chairs, and members. SIG Chairs are responsible for organizing and attending events that pertain to their individual SIG interests. In order to manage such an outstanding group of members, the executive board and special interest group chairs meet at least one a month to focus on upcoming events and activities as well as plan for general meetings.
